Myrtle Beach Community Theater
Come to the Swamp Fox Community Theater in Georgetown, on the
Grand Strand, for a night of outrageous comedy.
The Swamp Fox Players bought the Strand Theater in 1982. At
that time the historic landmark was a crumbling shambles and
home to local pigeons.Since then, through the communities fundraising
endeavors and generosity, the theater has been restored to it's
former grandeur. |

Located among unique shops, restaurants, museums
and art galleries in Georgetown, the theater is the perfect
place to end a slow paced day with some upbeat laughs. The Art
Deco building is in the League of Historic American Theater
listings. The marquee is original and the 40's-style box office
has been refurbished to old time beauty.
The idea to form a community
theater in Georgetown was born in 1971 and the theater held
their first two performances in the old Winyah High School auditorium.
Since then they have grown to open their own theater and bring
more performing arts to the area that enhance the community
as well.
